Letter, 7 Jan. 1815, Sandy River [Chester District, S.C.], to Thomas Anderson, Esq., from James McClintock, Chesterville, S.C., asking Thomas to visit Chester to settle a bail writ posted by Mr. Gunning for Isaac Bonner or Anderson Thomas and Atha Thomas. Letter, 7 June 1815, from Thomas' son, John Thomas, Congaree, S.C., requesting that his father deliver a letter, and provide work and accommodations until further notice for the African- American slave, Peter, who brought the letter, and requesting that Anderson "send Carolina" or another slave to work in his place "as you will see in the inclosed letter"; letter addressed to Capt. Thomas Anderson " ... per my servant Peter on horse back."
